BIG IDEA JUNKY & LOVER OF BRILLIANT DESIGN (AND INSPIRING CO-WORKERS, FUNNY PEOPLE, GOOD STORIES, SURPRISES, PUPPIES AND A FRIED EGG ON ANYTHING)

IN A PAST LIFE…

… I was deep in theatre. I grew up loving performing on stage and watching others perform. I loved a good story, and telling it live – in front of an audience; with an audience – was a huge high. It’s a very powerful place to be.

But my love for being on stage took a back seat to my need for seeing good stories on stage – and I started helping other people bring their stories to the stage. Working with playwrights in developing their work was as personally fulfilling as it gets – because you are believing in the possibilities of something. And you’re getting very intimate with something, as it grows and becomes what it becomes. It also, thankfully, builds a huge appreciation for good story telling. Everything is storytelling, so this was appreciated.

Moving into graphic design I started with show logos – very practical – but it was the same thing: storytelling in a snapshot. It’s the hardest thing to nail a print ad – compelling first impression. The print ad: the greatest teacher.

Getting into advertising, when looking at everywhere else I’ve been, makes all the sense. We’re aiming for good storytelling; compelling communication. I still love a good story. And I still love going on that journey with other people - only way to build the best brand story.

If you’re into good stories I’d love to connect.  And if you’ve read all the way to here, you’re my new best friend.
